“A history of Family, past and present ...”
The Lambert tile factory has been manufacturing and selling "canal tile" terracotta tiles since 1880.
At that time, the tiles were hand-molded by seasonal workers coming from Auvergne in the summer, and it so happens that the first molder to come to Saint Adjutory was named Henri Lambert.
Since then, the Lambert family has succeeded one another in Saint Adjutory, from father to son, until 1960, when Mr. Philippe Lascoux married Miss Odette Lambert. The first kilns were built by the tile makers themselves.
The manufacture of tiles with the first molders took place around 1930. The kilns were heated with wood until 1969. The Lacq gas pipeline was only 430 meters from the factory. Mr. LASCOUX, a very young business leader, took the important decision to have a special connection made to equip the kilns with this fuel.
At Tuilerie LAMBERT, we have built our expertise over the years on a natural resource that we consider to be a tremendous asset: PURE CLAY.
In addition to being particularly durable once fired, Pure Clay is a 100% natural element.
Throughout the manufacturing process, we take care to highlight this quality: We do not add degreasers such as sand.
We do not add chemicals to the raw material or the finished tiles.
Aurélien BALUTEAU and his mother, Marie-Bernadette BALUTEAU (the daughter of Odette and Philippe LASCOUX ) continue to manage the Tuilerie Lambert having the desire to continually improve manufacturing techniques, the quality of the canal tile and the impact on the environment.
"In every generation, each has changed the factory depending on their skills and new techniques."
Today, six generations have passed and the Tuilerie Lambert is still a family business that offers a unique and ancestral know-how
